Battery backup and water-powered backup options are available so a power outage doesn't undo your protection.
Star Tannery, VA water tables and storm patterns vary enough that a pump that's right for one property can be wrong for the next. We test inflow rate during inspection so the pump we recommend actually matches your basement's real conditions.
We check discharge line routing and check valve placement as part of every install, not just the pump itself.
We carry common pump models on the truck so a failed unit can often be replaced the same day you call.
Pricing covers the pump, basin, check valve, and discharge line as one quoted number, not itemized surprises after the fact.
Oversized or undersized pumps both cause problems — sizing it correctly the first time avoids premature failure.
Every Star Tannery, VA Sump Pump Installation job starts with an inspection, not a generic package — here's what that typically includes.
We install submersible pumps rated for continuous duty, not the lighter-duty units sold for occasional use.
A battery backup pump kicks in automatically if the power goes out during a storm — exactly when you need it most.
For homes with municipal water pressure, a water-powered backup pump runs without any battery at all, using house water pressure to move basement water out.
A missing or failed check valve lets pumped water flow back into the basin, making your pump work twice as hard for the same result.
Basin lids are sealed to reduce basement humidity and keep debris out of the pump mechanism.
Tell us your pump's age, symptoms, and whether it failed or you're installing new — that shapes what we bring on the visit.
We also check the discharge line route and check valve condition as part of the same visit.
You'll see the recommended pump horsepower, basin size, and any backup options broken out with pricing.
We test the new pump under load, including a simulated power outage if a backup system is installed, before we leave.

If the pump runs constantly or your basin overflows during heavy rain, it's likely undersized for your actual inflow rate.
We can walk through battery versus water-powered backup options based on your home's setup.
We can test an existing pump's condition during an inspection rather than assuming it needs replacement.
In many cases yes, especially during active weather — we carry common pump sizes on our trucks for Star Tannery, VA emergency calls.
